Information For SCOUTS
Ferny Crofts is the perfect location to bring your Scout Group, whether for an overnight camp on an expedition challenge, or a full week of adventure.
CAMPING
Ferny Crofts provides camping facilities for up to 500 people across 27 campsites. Our sites provide accommodation for a variety of camping needs, from the open space of the Main Field to secluded clearings in the woods.
Accommodation Options
Ferny Crofts offers three indoor accommodation units;
- The Mountbatten Lodge (32 beds),
- The Croft Centre (32 beds)
- The Inca Suite (6 beds).
These are available for hire on a weekly, weekend (minimum 2 nights) or daily basis during the week. Each of these units have a fully fitted kitchen, a dining room/activity/living area, are centrally heated, and have bathrooms equipped with showers, toilets and wash basins.
The “Sky High” Conservatory is a large 10m x 4m timber and glass room attached to the Croft Centre. The room is furnished to a high standard, with tables and chairs and can include tea/coffee making facilities. The Conservatory can be booked independently or in conjunction with the Croft Centre, at an additional charge. The design of the Conservatory means it is ideal as an indoor space for day visitors.
ACTIVITIES
Summer Camps
Ferny Crofts has a huge range of on-site Activities on offer.
Instructed Activities - Let one of our experienced and fully qualified instructors deliver one of our fun and exciting activity sessions. We can tailor the session to suit the needs of your group, be that fun, teamwork or confidence building.
Self-led Activities - We have a range of self-led Activities on site, including our Adventure Course and Aeroball. In addition, Scout Leaders with the correct permits can lead some of our Instructed Activities. Please contact us for more information.
Ferny Crofts Scout Activity Centre is a fantastic location for your Scout Group's Summer Camp, with camping for up to 500 people, indoor accommodation options, a huge range of on-site Activities and plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.

In the Summer Holidays Ferny Crofts staff also run two weekly events for our guests.
Tuesday nights are our Volleyball Tournaments. Can your team beat the Ferny Crofts Instructors Team, the "FC Allstars?" - we doubt it!
Thursday night is our traditional weekly campfire. Join us at the Campfire Circle for a great fun evening of songs and sketches around the fire.
Free Activities - Finally, we also offer a range of free self-led Activities for Scout Groups staying overnight. These include our Picture Trail, Frisbee Golf, and Orienteering.
