Ferny Crofts location make it the perfect destination to bring your Scout Group along to if you are travelling from overseas. It is a 20-30 minute walk from the closest train station and is a 30 minute drive from Southampton Airport.

Ferny Crofts is a 31 acre Scout Activity Centre which is located within the heart of the New Forest National Park, situated in the South of England. Apart from it's stunning location, Ferny Crofts boasts a whole host of outdoor activities, spacious camping for 500+, as well as three indoor accommodation units.
Location to Transport
Ferny Crofts is the perfect destination for a summer camp if you are travelling from overseas:

A 45 minute drive from Bournemouth Airport and only a 25 minute drive from Southampton Airport.

A 20-30 minute walk from the closest train station

Accessibility to the New Forest Tour Bus (July - September) which you can get on and off at various stops and switch between routes, whilst visiting small villages throughout the day.

With the New Forest National Park directly outside of our gate we are the idyll location for walking and cycle routes.

Brownsea Island
Brownsea Island, in Poole Harbour, is the home of the first Scout Camp led by Lord Robert Baden-Powell in 1907. Ferny Crofts is ideally located for a day trip or overnight camp to Brownsea Island, and many of our guests choose to visit during their stay.
The trip to Poole takes around an hour by road, and there are also rail options either from nearby Beaulieu Road Station or Brockenhurst Station.
Visitors to Brownsea Island need to arrange a ferry crossing, and an entrance fee is also payable to visit the Island.

Tented village
Let Ferny Crofts take all the hassle out of your camp. If you book our Tented Village there will be no need to transport and bring along all of your heavy camping equipment with you. The Tented Village is made up of eight bell tents, each with decked porched bases and solar panel lights at each entrance.
You shall also get a mess tent with tables and benches and a concrete fire stand that are yours to use for the duration of your visit.
With the option to hire alter fires to cook on, all your group will need to bring along to camp is their own personal equipment. To find out more click here.
Even if you do not have your own transport during your visit, local supermarkets such as Tesco and Asda can deliver your food order directly to site.
